Book Author: Kim Smuga-Otto

Kim Smuga-Otto is the author of the humorous portal fantasy Our Comeback is Slaying Monsters, the first book in her series Boy Bands & Dragons published by Riverfolk Books. Her short sf story, “Triptych”, was awarded a Silver Honorable Mention in Writers of the Future 2025. In addition to writing fiction, she has published nonfiction articles in numerous publications, including the San Jose Mercury News and Science Magazine, and co-hosts of the writing advice podcast, Words to Write by. She lives in Santa Cruz, California.
